Overview
We have added some modifiers to make the search bar smarter. These modifiers make searching easier on the fly.
Searching for multiple words
By default, searching in MyContentDash looks for the exact phrase you type in the search bar.
For example, searching for “Chicken Soup” will only look for that exact phrase.
You can add square brackets, [ and ], around a search phrase, which will cause MyContentDash to search for any of the words in any order.
So searching “[Chicken Soup]” will find articles like “Chicken Gumbo Soup”. It will also just find “Soup”.
Performing an “Or” search
Surrounding a comma separated list with parenthesis, ( and ), will perform an Or search, meaning only any one of the words needs to be found.
For example, you can search “Chicken (stew, soup)”, which will find both “Chicken Stew” and “Chicken Soup” in the results.
Removing results with search
If you need to remove certain results that contain certain words, you can do a negative search.
Placing a hyphen, or -, in front of the word in the search bar will exclude all results containing that word.
For example, searching “soup -crockpot” will show you all articles with the word “soup” that also don’t contain “crockpot”.
